The Grillo FD 220R is extremely maneuverable and easy to drive. Control is via a steering wheel and the rear steering axle allows an inner turning radius of just 30cm. The hydrostatic transmission is controlled by a pedal, forward to go forward, back to go back. The pedal is fitted with a "damper" to enable smooth operation. In tight areas or when maneuvering or in the presence of obsticles, the Grillo FD 220R shows how agile it can be. The FD 220R is also ideal for collecting leaves. 

The single blade cutting deck with collection is positioned in front of the operator; the visibilityof the cutting area is perfect. Driving with hydrostatic transmission and the easy light steering makes work a pleasure. The turning radius is extremely small and all the controls can be accessed from the driver's seat, making the Grillo FD 220R a mower within everybody's reach. 

The engine has electric start, has OHV and cast iron cylinder liners. It incorporates the latest technical features to ensure reliability, keep emissions low, consumption reduced and performance high. The FD 220R's exhaustwas designed bu grillo and belongs to the "Super Silent" series with remarkable noise reduction and minimum exhaust resistance. Speed ranges from 0 to 9 km/h and is continuouslt adjustable thus ensuring excellent performance. 

The floating cutting deck ensures a perfect cut even on undulating grounds. the rear swinging axle, the tires with anti-skid profile, allow, together with the pressure adjustment of the cutting deck on the ground, to follow with extreme precision and undulations, and therefore eliminate the possibilty of scalping the grass. The cutting deck's pressure adjustment is made by activating a simple hand wheel positioned below the driver's seat; the device modifies the weight balance between the cutting deck and drive axle of the FD 220R for greater adherance on slopes or in difficult situations, in order not to damage new or wet lawns. 

The blades are automatically disengaged once the grass catcher is full; the cutting process will be stopped. There is also the possibilty to choose the "buzzer indicating" option that signals that the grass catcher is full. Emptying the FD 220R's grass catcher is easy. Simply reverse to your designated area, then lift the lever next to the driver's seat whilst remaining seated; the grass catcher will lift and open automatically, completely emptying itself. The opening and closing of the grass catcher is automatic, via a magnetic catch, simple and efficient, wear free and with no need of special adjustment. 

Once you have finished using the machine, cleaning the cutting deck will always be quick and simple for everyone. The cutting deck is equipped with a quick coupling so that, by connecting a water hose the whole cutting deck can be cleaned with minimal effort. Totally removing the cutting deck is also easy. With a few simple operations it is possible to put it on one side and make it accessible for any service operation such as the replacement of the blade tips or extra cleaning.
