John Deere Warranty

"Defects discovered in new goods within 24 months of unlimited use (*exceptions defined below).” 
      
In the case of parts used in the repair or maintenance of the machine, a replacement part will benefit from the longer of,
a)    the balance of the new goods warranty or 
b)    6 months from date of purchase of that part irrespective of the machine warranty

 

In each case from the date of delivery to the original customer, and where the cause of failure is due solely to defective material or workmanship used in the course of their manufacture and providing that the goods having been maintained and used as outlined in the Operator’s Manual, then the Dealer will, at its option, either repair or replace the defective part or parts on the new goods concerned free of charge at the dealers premises. 
Such repair or replacement will be carried out either by the Dealer itself or any other authorised John Deere dealer.

*Exceptions
a)    In the case of all John Deere domestic / homeowner designated products not used exclusively for the homeowner’s personal use, the 24-month warranty or optional guarantee is reduced to 12 months
b)    In the case of X3 & X5 series mowers a 48-month 300 hour (X3 series) or 500 hour (X5 series) optional guarantee is available subject to mandatory John Deere dealer maintenance
c)    In the case of X1 series mowers a 36-month 120-hour optional guarantee is available subject to mandatory John Deere dealer maintenance
d)    In the case of hybrid golf mowers, the reel motors & reel motor controllers will benefit from a 48-month warranty
e)    In the case of Compact Utility Tractor, the powertrains benefit from 36-month warranty limited to 2000 hours
f)    In the case of Utility Vehicles, these machine benefit from unlimited warranty for the first 12 months, thereafter the warranty is limited to a maximum of 1000 hours

As with the products covered in the main statement, these periods will also be calculated from the date of delivery to the original customer.

The benefit of this warranty is transferable to any person or business defined as the “end user” who acquires any interest in the relevant goods for use within the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. It will be honoured by any authorised John Deere dealer within that Area but, outside the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, only to the extent that it is consistent with the terms of warranty authorised by John Deere in that region and which would be issued to original customers who purchase such goods or corresponding goods from the authorised dealer who is asked to honour this warranty and at that time. This warranty in no way restricts or affects the customer’s statutory rights."

For the avoidance of doubt, if the dealer gives to its Final Customers or assuming with regard to them a warranty or other obligations (including without limitation in respect of all warranties, conditions and other terms implied by statute or common law) in respect of the Goods which are more favourable to any Final Customer than the above warranty, but to the extent that they are more favourable the right to reimbursement provided for in the forgoing statement shall not apply and they will not be honoured free of charge to the customer by other Deere authorised dealers (which fact the Dealer shall make clear in the terms of any such warranty).
