TUESDAY 4TH NOVEMBER 5PM -
As we enter a new lockdown from tomorrow morning, we would like to pass on the below info regarding our opening situation at our branches. These changes are in place from 8am tomorrow morning (Thrusday 5th November).
Winchester (Fair Lane) Open with a trade-counter set-up only, this means there is no in-store browsing. Our Forest And Arb team, parts department and service department will all be in, but with reduced staff, so please bear with us if things take a tad longer than usual. We are only open during the week for our usual 8am-5pm hours for the next 4 weeks, so please DO NOT come on Saturday mornings at the moment. Where possible, please try to call/email our teams here before coming to avoid extended wait times at our counter, and please adhere to social distancing and restricted access rules when you are here. Both our Forest And Arb and MowWithUs websites will operate and dispatch as normal from our Fair Lane Branch.
Winchester (Romsey Road) STORE CLOSED - We will have a member of staff here to process email and telephone enquiries, but please do not come to this branch as the showroom is closed.

FRIDAY 31st JULY 2PM -
Just to keep you in the loop with the situation here at ForestAndArb, we now have all of our staff back working across the company returned from furlough. It's great to be back at full capacity again and we are now processing most orders within our usual 24 hour period of receiving them. Many thanks for your patience over the previous few months.
What we are now seeing if the knock-on effects of the various global lockdowns, with supply of kit being far far slower as manufacturing stopped for so long. Where most companies, ourselves included, hold plenty of stock of items, with everyone back at work this stock is selling through far quicker than normal, but manufacturers are having to work through huge global backlogs. WE WOULD THEREFORE ADVISE YOU TO GET YOUR ORDERS IN AT LEAST 2-3 WEEKS PRIOR TO NEEDING KIT FOR WORK. We are aiming to keep the stock up-to-date on the site as best we can, but just in case we would recommend acting sooner rather than later for kit needed for jobs.
As you are probably aware, our retail store is back open as usual and has been for some time, but please ensure you WEAR A MASK when you come to the store for the safety of our team and other customers. Many thanks for your understanding!
THURSDAY 28rd MAY 4PM -
Hi all, just a quick update to this - we now have some more staff returning to work over the last week or so, but still not everyone, so please bear with us while we try to stay on top of everything coming in. Please allow up to 2 working days for your order to be processed, although chances are we will get it sorted quicker than this.
The good news is our store is back open again - albeit only a trade counter set-up similar to what we had before the lockdown, so still no browsing allowed, but you can come back in and our staff will assist with whatever it is you need. If you do pop by, we kindly request that you respect our social distancing measures by respecting our 1 in-1 out policy at our counter, if there is someone inside please wait outside until they are done. We are also only taking in store payments via card at the moment.
THURSDAY 23RD APRIL 4PM -
Hi everyone, we know we've been a tad quieter since settling down into a new rythm of working over the last couple of weeks, but we just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone that is ordering from us, we are still sending out orders for stock items within 48 hours of ordering, often quicker, and DPD and TNT are both operating our deliveries on their usual next day services for the most part. We are still experiencing some difficulties across our supply chains for some items, including Stihl machinery and equipment especially. Stihl GB are open and shipping to us, but our machinery orders are being sent to us a bit slower than usual, so if you do order anything we haven't got, we'll be in touch ASAP to let you know of any delays.
Our remaining working staff are maintaining strict social distancing and health and safety procedures in our offices and warehouses and will continue to do so, until government advice changes, and we will not be back up to full staff levels until such times. Please allow an extra day or two for responses to emails as we are trying to prioritise sending out orders.
WEDNESDAY 1st APRIL 4PM -
Afternoon everyone, we hope you're all keeping well during these testing times. Just a quick update from us, we are operational through the website, with strict social distancing and reduced staff members in the building at all times. It's been a bit of an adjustment getting used to just being strictly online at the moment, but we are still dispatching on our usual delivery timescale, with both DPD, TNT and PALLEX delivering on time with their contact-free deliveries. You may see more products out-of-stock on the site than normal due to some suppliers being closed down for the moment, but major brands like Husqvarna are still dispatching to us, so we are keeping good stock levels of their items at this time. Stay safe, and hopefully we will all be through this sooner rather than later.
WEDNESDAY 25th MARCH 8AM -
We are still operational the same as yesterday. Luckily we have quite a large premises at our HQ so we can still maintain strict social distancing, and all staff are following all health and safety measures.
SUPPLY OF STIHL EQUIPMENT - We have this morning received an email from Stihl GB stating they they are now fully closed for the foreseeable future, due to the scale of their site and staffing even in the warehouse social distancing was proving too challenging to continue operating. This means that unless we have your item on the shelf, we will not be able to supply it anytime soon unlike usual. This includes machinery, parts and PPE. We will aim to keep the website as up-to-date as possible during this time on Stihl equipment, and if your order does contain anything out-of-stock, we will contact you straight away. We will also be contacting anyone with Stihl items currently on back-order to discuss these orders.
TUESDAY 24th MARCH 8AM -
Due to last night's government announcement, our store is now CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. We are going down to a skeleton staff and we will continue to operate our website and dispatch orders via DPD and TNT as normal, as best we can.
We are not allowed any in-store collections to be made for machinery, PPE, equipment or parts, with no exceptions. If you are after anything from us please us the website, or give us a call on 01962 857951, and we will send all orders via courier to you.
We will continue to operate as best we can from our warehouse, and we are following extremely tight guidelines to keep our staff that are working and our customers safe and well. MONDAY 23rd MARCH 9AM -
As of this morning, we are continuing to operate from our trade counter in-store. This is to reduce contact in-store and minimise the chance of spreading the virus. Our staff are slightly reduced due to self-isolation, however as far as we are aware no one is showing any symptoms of the virus.
As for our online services, we are still dispatching as normal. We are still sending in-stock items on next day delivery with no delays anticipated from either DPD or TNT. Below is the latest update from DPD:
"Contact free delivery update - We've improved our contact free delivery process to include photo capture proof of delivery. Your customers will not be asked to sign our handheld units and our drivers will take a photo of the parcel at the point of delivery. This now forms our proof of delivery process for all deliveries until further notice."
THURSDAY 19th MARCH 1PM -
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak we are having to implement very strict health and safety measures to protect our staff and customers. This maintains our top priority while we try to keep our service as normal as possible. In the meantime we will provide all of our services in-store from a trade counter set-up. We are hoping that by limiting the number of people in and out of our showroom the chances of contamination will be reduced. Space is limited between the front door and the counter so please consider this when coming in to allow as many people to be served at any point, as this counter will be covering ForestAndArb, Parts and Servicing.
As for our online services, we are still dispatching as normal, some couriers are operating delivery services by calling you when they arrive and staying a distance back from you while you collect the parcel then signing on your behalf, or using your safe place location. PLEASE USE THE ORDER COMMENTS ON OUR WEBSITE FOR ANY SPECIAL DELIVERY REQUESTS, WHICH DPD/TNT WILL TRY TO DO WHERE POSSIBLE. Stock-wise, we are still getting regular deliveries from most suppliers and we still have plenty available on the shelf. We predict that some suppliers will lose some capacity to supply certain products depending on where they are made/shipped from, but we will stay on top of this as best we can. As of right now, we are open and operating as best we can, and we will continue like this as long as necessary to make sure we can still supply you with what you need.
